Giraffe Safari
Giraffe are miraculous animals that tower above most other wildlife in any venue. Giraffe are easy to spot but a particularly great place to see giraffe on safari is the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Here, it is simple to realize the elegance and grace of these beauties as the giraffe roam freely in their natural setting. Giraffe can be seen from quite a distance away and most are approachable along roads in national reserves. The animals graze on tree leaves and can be found where tall trees reside. Sightings are fairly common in Africa, especially at the Khutse Game Reserve and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana. Giraffe usually live in herds of 4 to 30 individuals but there is no tight knit unity as wandering is common. They often rest during the hottest hours of the day. Giraffe are not usually dangerous but one can be trampled to death by a frightened animal on the run. Katavi National Park in Tanzania is another favorite giraffe safari spot. The park is not as crowded as other more popular reserves and hence makes for the best way to gaze upon these animals. Since giraffe are usually docile and rather friendly, they can be one of the few animals in Africa to bring the kids around. Langatta Giraffe sanctuary and Giraffe Manor in Nairobi are a great way for children of all ages to get to know these amazing creature on a one on one basis away from the wilderness of national reserves.
