Hippopotamus Safari
The hippopotamus is one of Africa’s most dangerous animals. Don’t let it’s calm demeanor and chubby lovable exterior fool you, this animal can be a killer. You will definitely be out of luck if you catch yourself swimming with these huge animals. Hippos like to reside around calm, dense waters. Herds occur of around 10 to 15 individuals while herds of bulls, the male hippo, can be mush larger. Hippos spend much of the hot day under water and leave during the cooler nights to graze. Watering holes scattered within the Serengeti in Tanzania are great places to spot hippos. The Grumeti River in the Western Serengeti is perfect for viewing hippo. Take an afternoon River Nile cruise at Murchison Falls National e Park and an early morning drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda to watch these magnificent creatures in their natural settings.
