Lion Safari
The top five lion safari destinations include Masai Mara in Kenya, the Serengeti in Tanzania, the Sabi Sands Reserve in South Africa, Etosha National Park in Namibia and Kruger National Park in South Africa. Masai Mara is most famous for the Masai culture and its annual wildebeest migration. During the migration, millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate to greener pastures, which brings out predators such as lions. The Masai Mara game reserve prides itself on being host to at least 10 prides of lions. The Serengeti also falls amidst the wildebeest migration but is also a great place to spot lions lounging around under trees and looking as cuddly as we know they aren’t. Sabi Sands offers guests the chance to go off-road because parts of the reserve are privately owned. This way, instead of waiting for the lions to come to you, you can go off on a hunt for them. Parking next to a water hole and waiting for these magnificent cats is sure to work at the Etosha National Park. Since water is so scarce, especially during the dry season, many animals come to the water holes. For this reason, they are also a great place to catch a lion hunt. If some wild lion action is what you’re looking for, the Kruger National Park is best for catching these cats doing what they do best, defending their territory and catch of the day from hyenas. Taking a safari to any one of these places is sure to guarantee a great roar of a time.
